Sports anchor/reporter Tim Baier
Tim Baier is a sports reporter/anchor for News 14 Carolina. He joined the station in May 2006.
Tim comes to News 14 from WUSA, the CBS affiliate in Washington DC, where he was a sports producer. Before that, Tim was the Sports Director at WVII in Bangor, Maine where he covered everything from high school football to the 2004 Red Sox World Series championship. While covering sports in Maine, Tim was honored twice for the Best Sports Feature by the Maine Association of Broadcasters. He also earned an award from the Maine Associated Press for his sports coverage.
He attended Boston College for his undergrad degree and then went to Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism for his master's in broadcast journalism. Tim grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and after several years in the north, he's happy to be back in the warm climate of North Carolina.
When he's not covering sports, Tim likes to get out on the links for a round of golf, so if anyone needs a fourth, just drop him an email.
