CMPD identify victim in fatal hit-and-run on Eastway Drive

CHARLOTTE--The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department are searching for a driver who they say hit and killed a pedestrian in northeast Charlotte.
It happened around 10:00 p.m. Saturday at Eastway Drive and Howie Circle.
Police have identified the victim as 54-year-old Alvin Price, and say he was crossing the street at Eastway Drive when he was hit and killed.
Police report after Price was hit, the car made a u-turn and returned to the scene, before taking off.
They describe the vehicle as a red, older two-door, wide-body sports car, maybe a Trans Am or a Camaro.
According to police, that vehicle will have damage to the front end of the car, specifically the right side.
Authorities are still searching for the driver and any other witnesses who can provide any information about the accident.
