FAYETTEVILLE-- A week after a female body was found only a few miles from where Kelli Bordeaux went missing, another search party gathered Saturday morning to look for the missing soldier.
This week, a special visitor came to see the search party off, Bordeaux's husband Mike.
“I definitely want to come out here every week, if there is one every week. because i want to show my appreciation to everyone that's doing this,” said Bordeaux
Pfc Kelli Bordeaux has been missing since April 14, when she was last seen leaving the Froggy Bottoms Bar in northern Fayetteville, just before 2 a.m.
Locals in the area have been meeting every week since, searching nearby areas for clues that might lead to Bordeaux.
Search leader Al Mignacci has been at the searches nearly every week.
“You always look for closure, whether it's good or bad. it's just the agony of waiting. if something bad's happened to her, it's better to know sooner rather than later,” said Mignacci.
Bordeaux's husband is still hopeful, especially after he learned the body found last week wasn't Kelli.
“I don't want to hear about stuff like that. when I do, I don't really know what to do. but when I know it's not her, it's like a breath of fresh air, even though I know she's not here. I just want her to be found, safe," said Bordeaux.
Police have asked Bordeaux not to take part in the searches, and at this point, he can only provide moral support.
