RALEIGH – Volunteers made last-minute calls at Bob Etheridge's downtown campaign headquarters Tuesday, asking voters to head to the polls and cast their ballot for the former congressman.

Etheridge is running for governor on the Democratic ticket and was trailing Lt. Gov. Walter Dalton by about 5 points as late as Monday. But polls also showed a good number of voters were still undecided as to who they would vote for in the Democratic race.

Etheridge said his position behind Dalton was exactly where he wanted to be heading into Tuesday's primary election.

The undecided voters could decide tonight's race.
