HIGH POINT — Former First Lady Laura Bush made a stop in the Tar Heel State to inspire young minds.

Bush was the featured guest speaker Saturday at High Point University's spring commencement ceremony. Mrs. Bush gave advice to 800 graduates, encouraging them to give back to others through their talents.

"The greatest advice she gave us was to keep reaching for better things," said graduate Leni Fragakis.

Leslie Touassi now has an education degree. On the eve of her graduation, she and 10 of her peers had the chance to speak with Bush.

"She gave us a lot of advice about helping students early on in the classroom," said Touassi.

Saturday's ceremony also included a special flyover by two U.S. military planes.
