ALBEMARLE, N.C. -- While some students are leaving soon to start their college years, about 400 turned their tassles as Pfeiffer University in Stanly County held its graduation ceremony saturday.

Students received masters and bachelors degrees from the Schools of Graduate and Adult Studies.

James Lewis, who earned his second degree from Pfeiffer, says continuing his education is an investment.

"The investment and the things that I'm getting out of it, I can't pay for that. It's just priceless and I'm encouraging my friends and family members," he said.

Lewis isn't the only Pfieffer graduate in his family. His wife. Patricia, an attorney, earned an undergraduate degree there and their 23-year-old daughter, Jamie, will attend the School of Adult Studies in the fall.
