CHARLOTTE -- More than a dozen former NFL players were poked, prodded, and scanned Saturday morning at Carolinas Medical Center.
The players took part in extensive heart testing. Doctors said they want to learn if former players are any more susceptible to heart problems than the general public.
“It is part of a study,” said Dr. Archie Roberts with the Living Heart Foundation. “We will put in all the information into data base and what the risks are in general for the population for retired NFL players
Doctors said they will also meet with those players to discuss their test results and make health recommendations.
