The food truck phenomenon continues to grow in the Port City. The New Hanover County Health Department says businesses asking for permits for a truck has grown from this time last year. A spokeswoman for the health department says in 2011 ten trucks were permitted. So far in 2012, 17 trucks are officially open for business. The Daily Special, a truck that hires cooks to prepare a fresh menu from different restaurants, just launched their business a couple of weeks ago.
