GREENSBORO – Piedmont-Triad business leaders honored their own on Tuesday.

The 2009 Piedmont Business Ethics Awards honors local business leaders and entrepreneurs who build and maintain solid reputations of corporate culpability. Members of North Carolina’s business community say the need for corporate responsibility is more important now than ever.

“Our whole mission is to have the light shine on the good guys,” said Michael Quinlivan. “Too many times, it's the bad guys like Bernie Madoff, and I can go on and on and on, and we're just not giving enough credit to the good guys. And that's what this whole event is about.”

The winners and finalists from the competition will be eligible to compete in the American Business Ethics Awards.
