A local man hopes to help in DC area shootings

A local man hopes he can help investigators track down the serial sniper responsible for at least eight deaths around Washington DC.
Dr. Maurice Godwin is a criminal investigative psychologist, and assistant professor of justice studies at Methodist College in Fayetteville. Godwin used his knowledge of psychological and geographical profiling, to come up with his own ideas about the person, or persons behind the gun.
Godwin mapped out each crime scene and believes the killer has ties to Northern Virginia. He said the location of the killings make what he calls a wedge shape, with the heart of it in the Dale City or Woodbridge area of Virginia.
One of the shootings happened outside a Maryland school and that's where investigators said they found a tarot card with the message, 'Dear policeman, I am God'. Investigators are trying to determine if the card is directly linked to the sniper. "If they confirm that it’s linked to this case, it’s not literally that the individual thinks he's God, it’s that he thinks he's God compared to law enforcement people,” Godwin explained.
Thursday, the Washington Post printed that the card had another message written on it; a warning not to make the note public. But there's a disagreement over whether the writer really wanted police to heed the second message.
